Eleven members of the Rippey United Methodist Church Ladies Aid met for the first time in many months on Thursday, Aug. 6. The intention of the organizers was for everyone to meet at 12:30 for a picnic sack lunch under the canopy in front of the church. All went well until a heavy shower with wind gusts sent the members into the church to finish their meal and visit.
Upcoming projects continue, with Jo Bardole sewing 50 school bags to be distributed soon. A collection was taken to help defray her expenses as she finishes this annual project. The members agreed it was a real boost to visit face to face and decided to try to meet again next month. The rain was a welcome sight!
Granddaughters visit – Nancy and Dale Hanaman have “superior” visitors in their household. Their granddaughters from Superior, WI, Elizabeth and Andrea Pearson, have been visiting. Their adventures have included cookie baking, visits to Squirrel Hollow, and Greene County farmers market, as well as enjoying Iowa sweet corn.
